Welcome to the Vermilion County, IL Geographic Information Systems (GIS) website. This site is currently being overhauled. When completed, you will be able to quickly and easily locate GIS maps, their associated data, and other GIS related information. Vermilion County is dedicated to provide GIS services in order to better serve the public.

Thousands of hours have been spent developing a Base Map of Vermilion County to be used in the Geographic Information System (GIS). Many county departments use this map data in their operations (everything from law enforcement to election departments). Maintaining this Base Map is an on-going project.

One of the largest benefits of having a GIS system is the Geographic Analysis capability it provides. Used for planning those "what ifs" in just about every aspect of county government.

Aerial Photography (from December 2007) spanning the entire county serves for even greater geographic analysis. Scanned images in a library of over 17 gigabytes provide a real image backdrop for map analysis. These photos can be duplicated.
